Hi 20six.

 Long time, no see.

I'm going to become a teacher.

Also, I'm going to Costa Rica soon-like. Perhaps with student loan money? Yesssssss

livin' the dream

So. To recap:

My Minnesotan adventure was an overall success. I saw old relatives and they saw me; I went gambling and won a ton of money.

I saw sharks, and pirrahna; hobos and late shows. Went to a Hollywood video, and got stuck in the snow.

You see, when it starts snowing in Minnesota no one leaves house; studs are banned on tires - in my eye to slow routes.

Rode buses and trains, saw dying eyes and the streets of Minneapolis in neon flames.

It was also my great pleasure to give up my seat on my plane back. I got stuck in Denver for a day and a half, and the wind made me think of home. There was a lady on the bus downtown who kept raving about dark-skins and how we're in Sodom and Gamorrah, that we're all going to die. She said this with a wild glaze in her eye from that firey clear liquid that turns peasants into prophets. Of East-European nationals into American demographics.

I also received a free hotel room, free meals and $600 in airline vouchers for this great incovnenience. The latter of which I have until next February to use.

3 days from now I will be leaving, somehow...whether by Volvo or bus to the Great One. Denali National Park. I will be living and working there the entirety of the summer and will be paid handsomely to do so. When I get back it is my full intention to take my road trip..I have dreams about Death Valley at night, the likes of which you cannot see between the traffic and street lights. After that I think I will go to Durban, South Africa and sleep on the couch of my friend. You can keep your 5 star hotels.

I will be 21 this July, and that means I'll be legally of age to consume that death-liquid. Instead of visiting a sleazy bar full of carcinogens, shattered psyches and drowned memories I plan to do something much greater. I am going to go paragliding with view of the biggest mountain in North and South America. Bigger than all the ones in Australia, Antartica, Africa, and Europe. The one more people die trying to climb than Everest.

Woo I'm going to Minnesota, and my friend in Florida is going to meet me there. THEN we're both going to take a trip down the midwest back and back to Florida eventually.

Wooo.

This blog is severely neglected.

I quit my job at Safeway. I was a slave. I will not be a stepping stone anymore.

I am still planning a road trip, down the west coast in fact. I plan on going through Canada and making a few more acquaintances via acquaintances on the way. Then down through Washington, Oregon, California. Then into Mexico. Two more stamps in my passport. There's still alot I need to do before September. Alot. I hope it works out.

I have procured a 1977 Volvo. It is a pretty sexy machine. Even has a sunroof. I'm going back into the tourist industry for the summer...I applied with Princess to work at the Denali lodge, or on the railway from (I think) Kenai to Fairbanks..that's roughly a 12 hour drive by car one way. If I do not get that job, however, I will be going back to Juneau and making the big moneys again. Maybe camping again. Losing weight again. Having fun and being free again.

My one year anniversary is coming up. One year! I hope he goes with my on my road trip.

In other news, I am not sure just how to go about fixing my blog. Le sigh.

It has been an ultimately wet and cold summer. Although I am not looking forward to the desolation of a winter lasting 6 months I have not cursed the weather we have had entirely. Alaska - to be sure - is not for everyone, but I can dig the sound of rain falling outside my window at night, cleansing my mind and welcoming sleep.

I got a job and I should be getting an assessment done before tomorrow, so that's good news. I'm now a PCA (personal care provider) for my grandmother, and I'll be making quite alot of money doing it. This will open the door for me to do other sorts of respit and hospice work in the future, if I am so inclined.

I decided that I want to become a teacher. I've been thinking about it nonchalantly for years, but I think that it would best accomodate my travel lust. First I think I'll stick to what I'm fluent in - English, but I'll also be continuing learning Spanish, so I need to start looking at degree programs and things like that. I could either stick with teaching English here in America, or could broaden that to teaching in other countries while simultaneously picking up the culture and language of the places I'll teach in. It all sounds pretty awesome to me. Otherwise, I'll always have 3 months off in the summer to travel if I decide to stay here in the U.S.
